Also On View: Unique and Unheralded Museums of Greater Los Angeles celebrates L.A.'s most fascinating and unexpected small collections, from the deeply culturally significant--such as the Antelope Valley Indian Museum--to the highly quirky and unusual, like the City of Los Angeles's Streetlight Museum. There are more than 650 museums in the greater Los Angeles area, many of which exist in shopping malls, storefronts, and back rooms. Some are even itinerant, housed in vans and wagons that travel around the city. Also on View showcases the critical and curious histories of these small collections, not as a guidebook but as a visual treasury of all the diversity and wonder that Los Angeles has to offer.
