For Art's Sake When reclusive widower, Arthur Du Fuss, creator of the cult board game Chancery, commits suicide, his neighbours in The Close receive post mortem invitations to the offices of charismatic lawyer, Sepp Stoehlheim, where they are invited to play a customised version of the game. The prize at stake is Arthur's fortune. The mutants prove to be perfect vessels for three ancient gods to restore their fading, corrupt energies. Over time, the deities grow bored with their business oligarchy and seek a victim for punishment, to demonstrate their primal powers. The man chosen is, however, keeper of a secret that could bring their empire crumbling down.
