There was nothing left.
I looked at the landscape, unable to miss its barren coldness, one that had been caused by the insatiable appetites of those in power.
Walking along the white stretch of road, white due to the continual fall of snow, I saw no-one, as usual.
Not that I expected to see anyone. For I'd been walking for what felt like forever, and as yet found not another soul.
Was I the only one left?
And really, what was the point if I were?
And why had I survived?
