Both external and internal nature that to-day it is improbable that a definition satisfactory to the larger number of students of this disease could be formulated. Many writers have indeed abandoned all attempt at a strict definition, and have contented them selves with a discussion of the various clinical appear anoes and pathological features that are met with. Of late years much interest has been aroused by the doctrine of a parasitic causation for some of its forms, and certain authors have gone so far as to declare that every case, that is properly speaking an eczema, is of parasitic origin.
