A History of the Irish Post Office is the first complete history of the Irish Postal Service over 300 years to the present day, where it remains Irelands largest employer, An Post. Originally, Irelands letters were delivered by post boys who walked or used their own horses. Poorly paid and equipped, they were sometimes attacked as they worked.
