Transport, Mobility, and the Production of Urban Space
Angebote / Angebote:
The 21st-century urban experience is defined by flow, structured by the circulation of people, objects, and energy through and around transport systems. For decades, transportation spaces like the everyday street have been largely understood through the models of regional scientists or techniques of civil engineering. But today, concerns for social justice and sustainability motivate a critical turn to reconsider transportation. This raises a key question: How best to rethink urban geographies of transport and mobility? This volume brings together diverse, international, and leading-edge scholarship to trace the spatialities and politics of mobility, critically examining the articulation of urban space through transportation infrastructure and everyday flows, exploring connections in spatial theory and practice between transport geographies and new mobilities in the production of networked urban places.
