Excerpt from A Clinical Treatise on the Diseases of the Nervous System, Vol. 2Infantile paralysis was described as early as the last century by Under wood (treatise on the Diseases of Children, London, erroneously considered it to be an idiopathic paralysis, and Duchenne de scribed it under the name of fatty atrophic paralysis of childhood.
