Excerpt from A Pneumatic System for Handling Wastes From a Poultry-Processing PlantA pneumatic waste-handling system was designed, installed, and evaluated in a commercial poultry-processing plant. The system effectively collected and transported the waste materials (heads, feet, and viscera) from the processing area and substantially reduced the pollution entering the plant effluent. Overall plant effluent was reduced by: bod, (bio chemical oxygen demand), 28 suspended solids, 25 and fat, 7570.
