A study of how consumers move from unorganised to organised retailing
Angebote / Angebote:
The retail industry in India has changed significantly in the past few years due to
political decisions and economic liberalisation. The government has shown that it has
the political will to get rid of restrictions and has become more open to making big
changes to the economy. Fast urbanisation, a growing number of women who run their
own businesses, a young population, and easy access to personal credit have made
organised retailing more lively and noticeable. Foreign retailers also have to deal with
full retail markets in their own countries, so they start looking for new opportunities and
show interest in the Indian retail market. However, getting into the Indian retail
showcase is a lot harder than expected, and many Indian retail stores have had to focus
on making their processes legal and reducing the number of stores in some parts of the
country. Despite these challenges, Indian retail has become one of the biggest and most
appealing places to shop.
