It was thought that, to supply the place of experience to this niost interesting portion of the bar, and prepare them with ready materials fqr almost every emergency, by collecting, arranging and exemplifying the rules regulating new trials, an acceptable service would be rendered to the profession.It is a singular fact, that While-other legal topics, of much less interest to the practitioner, are exhausted by elaborate treatises and digests, without end, the subject of new trials, so intimately connected with the progress of the great mass of causes, should have been, in a great measure, overlooked.
