Editor Maaza Mengiste's debut novel, Beneath the Lion's Gaze, was published by Norton and was selected as a best book by several publications, including the Guardian and the Boston Globe. The novel was also a finalist for an NAACP Image Award and an Indies Choice Book of the Year Award.Mengiste's new novel, The Shadow King, will be published by Norton in September 2019.
