This volume will introduce students and scholars to the large and rich area of inquiry and scholarship known as African American Studies (also called Black Studies, Africana Studies, and Pan African Studies). Students will be presented with foundational content in the discipline, a focus on social activism and community service as inextricably linked to African American Studies, an understanding of related global perspectives, selected areas of creative narratives and production in the discipline, and a look to the future of the discipline.
