Under these circumstances, and seeing that there has been but little published in England about the manufacture of ammonia, the publication of the present translation of Professor Camille Vincent's little treatise on Ammonia will not be without interest and value. The Author, who is Professor of Chemistry at the Paris Central School of Arts and Manufactures, describes very clearly the methods which are largely and successfully practised in France for the preparation of ammonia and ammonium salts from various waste and raw products.
