Excerpt from An Index of the Adverbs of PlautusTo some scholarships awarded to our students in their last year two obligations are attached: that during two of the three terms for which they hold the scholarship they shall (1) assist the Professor in tutorial work, (2) prosecute some line of research under the Professor's supervision. The shortness of the time available prevents anything ambitious in the way of classical research. Sometimes the results have appeared in the Classical Review more often they have taken the form of contributions to the Plato Lexicon, most often of all an essay or précis has been written, which remains in the Professor's desk.
