Analysis of Wear Rate of Heat Treated Concrete Mixer Blades

Angebote / Angebote:

The wear of concrete mixer blades was generally takes place by abrasion. The objective of this study was to enhance the useful life of concrete mixer blades in order to decrease the ideal time required to reinstate the blades periodically during working. The objective was carried out by means of heat treatment where the effect of heat treatment on the extent of wear and wear characteristics of the concrete mixer blades were examined. Hardening was done using different quenching mediums on the sample of EN-31 high tensile steel. Kerosene oil, Gear oil, water and brine solution were chosen as quenching mediums. This book concentrate on the sliding wear study of all the heat treatments done on EN-31 high tensile steel substrates. The wear tests were performed on Pin-on-Disk apparatus for samples of heat treated EN-31 high tensile steel. Heat treatments had been characterized by SEM/EDS analysis. The result of heat treatment characterization, experimental wear data generated, SEM micrographs and energy dispersive X-Ray spectroscopy of worn out samples were used to analyze the wear behavior of heat treated high tensile steel concrete mixer blades.
