As Jennifer is getting ready to pack up for the day from her administrative job at the Chicago Police Department, the Lieutenant asks her to relay a message to a detective who hasn't checked in since leaving the precinct earlier that morning. Detective Marsden went to inform Kyle Granderson that his wife was found dead the night before in a nearby park. When Jennifer arrives to deliver the message, she hears what sounds like a gunshot go off inside the house.
