A coming of age story in the vein of The Lincoln Highway but with the fast pace of John Green's Paper Towns. It's August, 1968 and the nation is divided, again, but not by party-it's generation versus generation, over a war, politics, race and social class. And so comes the story of Steve, an affluent college student who with three friends are planning to avenge a dying uncle of one by stealing from a company in an attempt to commit the perfect crime at the perfect time, during the infamous Democratic Convention in Chicago. But then in a summer school class Steve meets Lily, a working class girl who is part of the protest movement at the convention and who, along with the turmoil of the times, changes his life forever.
