However, there are still very few books on the market that give guidance to the scientist, without a strong understanding of statistics, as to how these methods should be applied.
This book provides a practical overview of introduction to Bayesian inference and decision theory, keeping mathematical details to a minimum, and featuring a number of practical and detailed case studies taken from medicine, biology, engineering and industry. Implementation of the methods in various software packages, including Excel, Minitab, Matlab, R, and WinBUGS is explained, as well as a substantial number of exercises ranging from basic to computer-based problems, to enable to reader to develop their understanding of the methods described.
