In 43 years Dr. Robinson has not had a union strike and possibly only 3 grievances. His methodology is to solve problems before they become an issue. Off times he asked for a solution from the union. They are my friends and are always righteous in their request. The book is a how to maintain a humanistic environment with the union where both parties are always dignified and seeking reasonable solutions. Unions consist of humanity which has the same basic codes of behavior than me. Consequently we share values and recognize their importance in our mutual behavior pattern. I call this the style of leadership which utilizes Common Codes of Behaviors such as concern for other, courtesy and honesty. I believe that I am a member of a rare club since I am always invited to the Union Christmas party. We have no fear that I might be confronted with unfavorable behavior. Always remember that front line supervisors are generally former union's members. They are a wonderful source for discussions pertaining to union matters. Management - union relationships can be one of mutual respect if the leader is truly a patron of human dignity. The above is in the book.
