Beside the Billabong is a story of life in the Australian outback. Warragul, a juvenile bunyip of Australian mythology and his friends, find the fun and adventures of living at a billabong. The five bush friends, a bunyip, a kookaburra, a possum, a tortoise and a platypus all play together as friends. They don't see the differences between them, just enjoy each other's company. They enjoy the bush, learning all the time and get into all sorts of mischief.The Australian outback can be a very harsh environment in which to live. Not only does the climate present many problems and difficulties but the nature of the country also makes living in these harsh environments very tough.Follow the daily activities of these five bush friends as they learn to adapt to the conditions and aspects of the harsh outback bush.Do they survive and are they are able to teach and help each other in the process?
