Bioprospecting of Plant Biodiversity for Industrial Molecules
Angebote / Angebote:
Plants are crucial biological components of the biosphere in earth. The plant resource has served human-kind in several ways, by providing food, feed, medicine, nutraceuticals, shelter etc. Plant bioprospecting has been performed since the existence of human life at the earth. Extensive investigations have been done to explore several phytochemicals, pharmaceuticals, anti-oxidants etc. There is a need to develop plant products with prebiotic properties, and with high bioavailable mineral micronutrients. A rich cultural knowledge associated with multifarious health beneficial aspects of plants is available in different parts of the world. Many plants of cosmetic and perfumery importance have been shown to be of great economical value. The plants grown for production of spices and condiments have important societal and medicinal merits. Many lower plants have been demonstrated to exhibit potential in biopesticide development. Furthermore, this is an era of secondary agriculture by valorisation of the abundant residual plant biomass. This book will present the global perspectives of bioprospecting of biodiversity. The main focus will be on natural compounds of plants origins, and the biological systems of health attributes. The research performed on enzymes, amino acids, vitamins, minerals, short-chain carbohydrate, phytochemicals, and other bioactive molecules will be presented, with their health impact assessed and ecological sustainability.
