Simon Napier-Bell is a legendary figure in the history of British popular music. In a career now spanning eight decades, he has managed acts as diverse as The Yardbirds, Ultravox, Marc Bolan, Japan, Candi Staton, Sinéad O'Connor and Wham!. He has also worked as a producer and songwriter (notably penning 1966's 'You Don't Have to Say You Love Me', a hit for Dusty Springfield and Elvis Presley). His 2002 book Black Vinyl White Powder was a UK bestseller, and is considered the classic insider's account of the British music business.
