The epic Song of The Cid appears here in an authoritative edition by the renowned Cidian scholar Alberto Montaner. The Carmen Campidoctoris, probably written while the Cid was still alive, appears in both Latin and Spanish original languages. The Romances viejos of the Cid provide yet another dimension to the Cid's heroic myth-and the times in which it was created.
Created by renowned Spanish scholars and an award-winning American poet, these Songs of the Cid are a landmark event in Hispanic literary studies. A must-have for every college and university collection!
