In selecting these cases, the author has kept in mind two things, viz., first, to include no case based on obsolete law, second, to include only so much of the case as is in point. As a further help to the student, a topical heading has been used for each case or group of cases the purpose being to give the student something definite to look for. The heading, however, in no instance, reveals the holding of the case, for the author has been as careful to pre vent legal conclusions being drawn from the headings as he has been particular in selecting suitable headings.
