Civil and Political Rights in Cameroon
Angebote / Angebote:
Civil and Political Rights in Cameroon explores the fundamental pillars of Cameroon's democracy and democratization process and interrogates the presence of constitutionalism and the rule of law. It argues that the democratic process as well as democratization are flawed in the light of the prerequisites for democracy and democratization, while examining the contemporary developments made by numerous states on the African continent towards this direction. The context of civil and political rights is discussed with focus on the normative content and incidents that have suggested serious violations in respecting, promoting and protecting civil and political rights in Cameroon. Taking a theoretical approach, Agbor analyses the context in which these rights are founded - identifying and discussing situations that have occurred in which violations occurred. This is the first work to bring together theory and context using a comparative study approach in interrogating the legislative framework as well as institutional mechanism.
