Excerpt from Contributions to Old English LexicographyAccording to the explanation in Lye's preface the reference zeifr. Yi.' means Elfrici glossarium ad calcem dictionarii Gui. Somneri, ' but this is not quite correct. It is true, i.e. That Az'lfr. Gi., does refer to the Rubens glossary printed at the end of Somner W\ 104 the number being that of the page in S., but the simple reference /e(fr. Yl. Without a number, or Ac'lfr. Yl. Followed by a number but no 'p, ' means jelfric's glossary ww. 304 - 337 2eg., pp. 297 Thus, for instance, deoifellm roe, Ail/3°. Yl. Does not occur at all in the Rubens glossary, but corresponds to \vw. 328 '9 Lye's R. Refers to ms. Junius 71 (the copy of the Rubens glosses made by J unius, whence Somner printed them)About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
