The lectures now presented to the public are not a selection out of these hundred and fifty, but the Sabbath evening series of the last season. It will be understood, therefore, that these lectures were prepared from week to week amid the pressure of the duties, cares, and anxieties inseparable from a large city congregation. They were listened to by crowded assemblies, and with increasing interest to the close of the series.
