Decision Making and Controversies in State Supreme Courts
Angebote / Angebote:
This book examines state supreme court decision making during controversies involving religion, race, and gender skirmishes. The book identifies and analyses the predominant factors that influence state supreme court decision making during controversies involving justices serving in these courts. It contributes to the literature on decision making in state supreme courts, especially in light of public controversies concerning religion, race, or gender, by building upon established models of decision making that scholars utilize for assessing these courts. Three case studies of state supreme courts - Alabama, Louisiana, and Wisconsin - are used to critically examine controversies in these courts concerning the salient issues of religion, race, and gender, and the impact of those controversies on the justices' interpersonal dynamics and decision making.
