Dusty Diamond of the investigative firm, Diamond and Diamond, is asked-no, coerced-by the FBI to perform an assignment in Texas-to clear her father's name. Similarly, Buddy Bowers, who previously was Dusty's client in Sand Trapped, is also "persuaded" by the FBI to go to Texas-to uncover something which might send Daddy Diamond to jail! Huh? They are taken to a safe house-which isn't so safe: Dusty is kidnapped. And when Buddy attempts to find her, he uncovers a smuggling and counterfeiting operation. To make things a bit more dicey, Buddy is jailed for murder. Not again! Dusty is trapped in a flooded river. Will she be rescued by her "knight in shining armor"? And will they find the culprit who did this to her? Or.has the FBI set these two bickering "buddies" up for another hilariously-suicidal case of.cats and rats? Oh no!
