The biographies Of John Rice Jones, the earliest and foremost lawyer in the Northwest Territory, and of his family are by his grandson, Mr. W. A. Burt Jones of St. Paul, Minn., and the portrait is from an original in the possession of his only surviv ing son, Hon. George W. Jones Of Dubuque, Ia.
