Excerpt from Employers Associations in the United States: A Study of Typical Associations
Ignorance as to the existence of employers' associations seems to be much more general than on any other subject of equal importance. Far less is known of their nature by the vast majority of our people than is known about labor unions and similar movements. Many employers who know of the existence of an association in their field of business, are unacquainted with the real nature of the organization, and remain so until a strike or other labor difficulty causes them to appeal for help.1 Members not infrequently have little knowledge of their own association. Mr. O. P. Briggs.
