It will scarcely be denied that the Church of England has a right to a ceremonial law of its own, and beyond question the Prayer Book contains at least a certain number of explicit directions. The upholders of "The English Use, " then, desire to take for their guiding principle the appeal to authority, and to set aside any personal preference for this system or that, whether in whole or in part.
