In November, 1911, the work had progressed to a point that clearly showed it to be my duty to develop it to the utmost and to make public the results. At this time, feeling that the responsibility was more than should be left to one man, I asked certain men prominent in the scientific life of Pittsburgh to aid me in designing and developing the work to be done, the result of which was the formation of what we call the Committee, the names and addresses of whose members follow.
