Excerpt from Food and Agricultural Sciences National Needs Graduate FellowshipsTo help meet the Nation's emerging needs for food and agricultural scientific and professional expertise, the Agricultural Research Service (ars) through its Higher Education Programs (hep) unit is offering, subject to the availability of funds, a program of Food and Agricultural Sciences National Needs Graduate Fellowships. The fellowships are intended to encourage outstanding students to pursue and complete a graduate degree in an area of the food and agricultural sciences for which development of scientific expertise is designated by the ars hep as a national need. A graduate degree, for this program, is defined as a master's or doctoral degree.
