This response on the part of the schools is becoming more acute, and it is a promising indication to find that the leading school administrators are recognizing gardening and are prepared to give it a place in the curriculum. From the standpoint of financial support, also, gar dening has had to pass through the same troublous vicissitudes as music, manual training, drawing, and home economics. Like these, it has been financed and its value demonstrated largely by outside in¿uence. School boards are just beginning to make provision for the financial support of this subject.
