W. Fred Bowen is a retired educator who lives part-time in Canada and Switzerland. Since he was very young, while growing up in Montana, one of his many interests has been the pre-history of the aboriginal peoples of prairies. He has been fascinated by the artifacts left behind by these people and curious about how they were able to exist in a harsh and difficult world. Head Smash In, written predominantly for younger readers, is his first story about that world.
