Monroe "Roe" Pearson was born and raised in the MartinLuther King Homes housing projects on Chicago's Southside. At a young age he was already a boss and part ownerof a large street operation, netting unheard of amounts ofcash daily. In the "jets", every day becomes a struggle toremain at the top of the pile. The pursuit of money, fast carsand willing women lands Roe in the federal penitentiary atan early age.During his prison time, the projects Roe knew and loved sowell are demolished down to the last row house. Years laterRoe is released, and now he has to deal with the reality ofthe only place he's ever lived being gone. Soon enough herealizes not just the buildings are missing, but so are thepeople and their way of life.
