Excerpt from Incidence of the Processing Taxes Under the Agricultural Adjustment Act: A Selected List of ReferencesReferences on the incidence of other processing taxes have not been included, but attention is called to an article by Mary Gaffney, entitled Processing Taxes in a Chemical Process Industry. (chemical Industries 38(2):l25 - l27. February 1936) It refers to the effect on the soap industry of the processing tax on certain oils imposed under the Revenue Act of 1934.At various times during the years 1935 - 1955 hearings on pro~ posed processing and compensatory taxes were held by the Agricultural Adjustment Administration. These hearings have not been published. Typewritten transcriptions of them are available for consultation in the hearing clerk's office in the Agricultural Adjustment Administra tion.
