This book was made into one of the funniest movies ever. There were many funny scenes in this movie. Sadly, however, you could not see this movie because Notre Dame University brought a court case against it. Notre Dame got an injunction against the movie being shown. The was because the movie depicts the protagonist getting the Notre Dame University football players drunk and them having sex with the harem girls and so as to enable the invented Fawz University football team to defeat Notre Dame University in the big football game. During the Cold War, John Goldfarb (Richard Crenna) gets lost and crashes his spy plane in the Middle East and is taken prisoner by the local government. His captor, King Fawz (Sir Peter Ustinov), soon discovers that Goldfarb used to be a college football star. So he issues him an ultimatum: coach his country's football team, or Fawz will surrender him to the Russians. Goldfarb teams up with undercover reporter Jenny Ericson (Shirley MacLaine), and together they plot to escape their dangerous situation.
