Svenja Flaßpöhler advocates for active feminism and rejects the idea of women as victims, the antagonization between men and women, and what the author calls "hashtag feminism." For some, men are being submitted to a witch hunt. Others maintain that the hashtag finally shed light on a problem that is deeply rooted in our society: the devaluation of women. Svenja Flasspöhler praises the movement's effort toward emancipation, but warns that, far from ending systematic misogyny, it just ends up strengthening its core. Only when women understand themselves and their own desires will they be freed from the role of victim. Only when they don't limit themselves to demanding autonomy and start living it will they manage to empower themselves. And only on this foundation can we achieve a successful relationship between genders.
