The subject of workshop combines two key technologies of modern research: lasers and ion storage techniques. This combination has opened new research opportunities for investigations in atomic and nuclear physics, for detection of quantum effects in particle ensembles as well as for precision spectroscopy especially for testing fundamental interactions and symmetries. This book highlights the progress in these areas since 2006 and indicates the most attractive directions of future research and technical developments.
