After Mac Slater won the trip to New York City from the Coolhunters website, he thought nothing could go wrong. Bringing along his best friend Paul and his father, Mac sets out to prove that if you can make it in New York City, you can make it anywhere. Only problem is, Mac isn't that cool. And finding cool things in New York is a lot harder than he imagined. After his camera is stolen and he is humiliated by a lame post on the Coolhunters site (he can't decide what's worse), Mac meets a unique group of people who invent and create for themselves and want no part of the commercial world. But how can Mac ignore something as cool as a perpetual motion machine? Can Mac keep a secret or will he prove he can truly hunt the cool once and for all?
