Marketing Practices of Growers of Flowers and Plants

Angebote / Angebote:

Excerpt from Marketing Practices of Growers of Flowers and Plants: Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, D. CGrowers of flowers and plants near the Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washing ton, D.C., terminal markets foresee little change in their marketing practices through 1976. The typical grower largely markets through fewer than five whole salers. Few growers are affiliated with other firms or own more than one pro duction facility. There is little conglomeration or likelihood of vertical and horizontal integration by many firms in the area studied. Growers believed that factors negative to area firms entering the production of ornamentals were stronger than incentives to enter. D returns, long hours of work, and rising costs of inputs in production discourage entry.Pricing remains a function of demand relative to the available supply, especially in certain seasons or around special holidays. Little change in pricing patterns is foreseen even though quality differences are being given more weight in pricing decisions.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
