What distinguishes this textbook from most other books on mediation is the way it links together the now classical elements of the mediation process with the explicit values and attitudes of the mediator, regardless of whether these concern technical matters, philosophical attitudes, or values. No matter what type of conflict is the subject of mediation or who the parties are, these must guide and motivate the mediator.
