Excerpt from Minutes of Twenty-Fifth Session of the Holston Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church: Held at Dayton Tenn., October 9-14, 1889 J. J. Robinette presented a resolution on Finances, and the same was approved. T. C. Carter presented the report of the Committee on Episcopal Residence, which was approved. T. C. Carter offered a resolution on Church Literature, and it was adopted. The Conference Treasurer presented his corrected report, which was approved. Rev. W. B. Baldwin was admitted into the Conference upon the authority of his credentials as an effective Elder, coming from the M. E. Church, South. A resolution of thanks was presented by A. B. Riker to the citizens of Dayton and the Presiding Elder and Pastor of this Church, and adopted by rising vote. A resolution was offered by T. H. Russell in appreciation of Bishop Joyce's brotherly work among us. Adopted by rising vote. The Committee on Missions reported through J. J. Robinette, and the report was adopted.
