Six-year old Molly Thompson and her brother are placed in an orphanage when their mother mysteriously disappears. Hurt and worried they go to live with their elderly grandmother for a while before being sent to an orphanage. During those years, she learns from her new friends how to endure hardships and struggles. Then, hearing she may find some answers to her past in her personnel files there, she does some snooping and is shocked at what she discovers. After her high-school graduation, she is ecstatic when she learns she has inherited a million-dollar beach cottage at Emerald Isle, NC. Forgoing college, she moves to the beach and soon realizes she needs legal help settling her new estate. She hires charming, handsome Dan Odom. They soon fall in love despite their fifteen-year age difference, they marry and decide to live in her beach house. Will they be able to live happily ever-after with all she's been through?
