Preface -
Although you know that many things which you buy daily do not
give your money's worth that some may even be ineffective, deleterious
or even harmful, what can you do about it?
While a number of consumers' books have recently appeared,
many confine themselves to informing you that you are being imposed
upon. They content themselves with "pointing the finger of
scorn" and "viewing with alarm." How to determine for yourself
what products you should buy to protect your pocketbook and health
is not shown. In this book "no names are named" because a product
may be good to-day and bad to-morrow or vice-versa. Manufacturers
make changes without notifying the consumer. Thus, by
not mentioning names, but speaking in terms of types of products
and materials you will be in a better position to judge what to buy.
This book is dedicated to the principle that knowledge is power.
