Excerpt from Nald Pecock's Book of Faith: A Fifteenth Century Theological Tractate
Pecock's Book of Faith exists in a unique, imperfect manuscript in Trinity College Library, Cambridge (B. 14. 45). Along with several other English religious works of the fifteenth century, it was included in Whitgift's benefactions to the college library, and it bears his arms on the binding. According to Dr. James, it is written in a hand of the early fifteenth century, and contains many marginal notes, some of them almost as early as the manuscript itself. It consists of 127 ff., very clearly written, although the scribe has been by no means perfect in his transcription. Two folios in the second octave are missing, and many at the end - we know that at least two chapters are gone.
