Denver homicide detective Nick Teffinger has made mistakes before, lots of them, but never as bad as this one. This time he's put a witness in harm's way by inadvertently disclosing her identity to the very person saw commit a murder. She's protected herself as much as she can. She's abandoned her life in Denver and run away, all the way to Paris in fact, where she's taken an alias identity and settled into an unassuming life. That even worked for awhile. It's not working anymore. And now it's time for Teffinger to try to correct his mistake, even if that means getting killed in the process.
