Excerpt from Nine Years of the League of Nations, 1920-28: Ninth YearbookThe German Reichstag on November 30, 1925, author ized the Government to take the steps necessary for the entrance of Germany into the League of Nations. This authorization was incorporated into the law approving the Locarno treaties. On February 8, Germany for mally applied for admission to_ the League. Attached to the application was a Copy of the joint note of the Locarno states respecting Art. 16 Of the Covenant. In this note, Germany was informed that the Obligations on Members of the League must be understood to mean that each state Member Of the League is bound to Cooperate loyally and effectively in support of the Covenant and in resistance to any active aggression to an extent that is compatible with its military situation and takes its geographical position into account.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
